Company documents and Stella

Create and review company profiles, design guides and marketing strategies in Canvass, with versioned drafts and a document side drawer.

Canvass keeps your company profile, design guide, competitor analysis, marketing strategy and content strategy together in the marketing workspace. Select a document to open it beside your workspace. The drawer includes its saved revision, review status and source references.

Create or edit a company document

Select your company, open Stella, and describe the document you need. Include the offer, facts and constraints you want it to use. For example: "Draft a marketing strategy for our migration readiness assessment. Keep the service region as an open question and identify the evidence we still need."

Stella reads the current company documents before proposing changes. Review the proposed text and choose whether to save it. Saving creates a draft revision; it does not approve company facts or prepare an audience for sending. When you correct several documents, Stella can show them in one proposal so you can review their consistency together.

Read a proposal in chat

Document proposals show formatted text so you can read the draft before saving. Choose Read full document to open a larger reading drawer. Compare exact changes retains the original and proposed values, including source formatting. A first draft is labeled as a new document.

Chat history sits beside the conversation on desktop and opens from Chat history on smaller screens. Search finds a previous conversation; collapsing history gives the document more room.

Review in the document drawer

Use Edit document to change the text yourself or Edit with Stella to discuss it beside the brief. You can copy the saved body, download Markdown, or expand the reading view. Save or cancel an open manual edit before closing the drawer.

Check the sources and evidence gaps before approving a revision. A captured web page records what was available at capture time. It does not establish permission to use customer proof or validate every claim. Missing and failed captures remain visible.

What approval changes

Approving a company revision lets Canvass use it as company context in future work. Campaign launch, agent permissions and sending have separate approval steps. A newer draft does not replace the last approved version until you review it.

Continue with the campaign workflow after you have reviewed the company context and offer. See external agents for scoped agent access and capability parity for API, MCP and CLI coverage.

When you reopen a document conversation, Stella keeps the company from its document read. You can review the proposal in that conversation before saving its draft versions.

Recover a strategy after reloading

If you reload before saving a generated strategy, choose Recover strategy proposal in Marketing. Canvass reopens the retained result. If the request was still running, Check strategy status keeps its original input, including the earlier proposal when you requested a revision. Editing the context box does not change a request already in progress.

Unsaved model output has a short recovery window: it can expire 15 minutes after the request is staged, including time spent generating. Save reviewed drafts to retain their versions. If the result has expired or an older tab kept only its request ID, check saved versions, then choose Start a new strategy request. That clears the recovery control; generating a new proposal is a separate click.

Saving the company documents keeps your targeting and messaging proposal available for separate review. If that company save loses its confirmation, open the created company after reloading and recover the proposal to retry the original save.

An unconfirmed targeting or messaging save offers Recover targeting save or Recover messaging save. Reopen it to review the submitted values and retry the same request. Check saved versions too: an interrupted response can mean the save completed. A recovery control is not a save receipt.

These recovery details belong to the current browser tab and company. Closing the tab or clearing browser storage can remove them. If the original proposal is no longer retained, Canvass cannot recover it; your saved versions remain available. Recovery never approves documents or activates a campaign.

Before saving generated targeting or messaging, choose the offer's commercial scope in each editor. How these settings will be used explains which proposed values guide account fit, buyer selection and message drafting. Choose the actual offer and exact versions when preparing the campaign. Proof, budget, capacity and launch decisions still need their own review.

Review strategy decisions

In a generated proposal, expand How these settings will be used, then read Strategy decisions to review. Each decision explains where it belongs and how it relates to targeting, messaging or campaign review. Not captured separately means the proposal has no separate structured answer; your strategy document may still discuss it. Review the document alongside the proposed settings.

Use the questions to check the offer, buyer relevance, alternatives, proof, timing and success measures. Proof still needs approval and permission for external use. Budget and sales capacity remain advisory until the campaign's supported settings enforce them.

Compare targeting and messaging settings

In either draft editor, open Review settings and changes to see the values you are about to save and what each setting controls. Edits show their original proposal value when the retained proposal matches this company and version's source. If that proposal is unavailable, the comparison labels the record values and editor defaults as Starting value. Differences are labeled against that baseline, including changes already saved in a previous revision. Canvass does not reconstruct an original proposal.

Profile sources are starting values, not model recommendations. Choose the commercial scope yourself; select the actual offer separately when preparing a campaign. Saving keeps a draft targeting or messaging version. Proof permissions, buying-role decisions, timing, budget, sales capacity and success measures still need review before campaign launch.

See which campaigns use a saved version

In Marketing, open a saved targeting or messaging version under Saved from your proposals. Selected in lists campaign versions that reference that exact targeting version. Pinned to lists campaign versions whose execution settings retain that exact messaging version. Expand the list and choose a campaign to open its Recipients or Emails tab at the saved campaign version.

The list includes historical campaign versions and shows each version's status and dry-run setting. Daily shortlist campaigns are not included. Matching names or commercial scopes do not establish a link. A campaign draft can have targeting selected before messaging is pinned. These saved selections do not approve or send a campaign.

Use reviewed targeting in a market

Target Markets opens with your saved markets. Search by name or filter by status, then open a row to review its buyers and exact ICP version. Choose Create market to prepare another audience.

From Marketing, open the saved proposal links. For an active targeting version, choose Review a market with this ICP. The editor opens with that exact version. If it is unavailable or retired, choose another active version explicitly.

The editor has three steps:

  1. Company fit — choose an ICP and review geography, company size and industries. Expand the exclusions and evidence requirements when you need the detail.
  2. Buyers — edit the copied titles and choose their buying role and seniority. These choices apply to the market; your ICP stays unchanged.
  3. Review — name the market, check the full audience and inspect the signal and scoring defaults. Choose Save market draft when it is ready.

Saving a draft does not activate the market or source leads. Open the saved market to review and activate it separately. Messaging, campaign versions, proof permissions and delivery approvals keep their own review steps.

If a save response is interrupted, use All markets to inspect saved versions, then Resume draft to return to your entered values. An unchanged retry on the same page keeps the original market and request identity. Changed settings require an explicit choice to create a separate draft. Reloading the market editor does not recover its unsaved form, so check saved versions before creating another market.
